Markus started his career with an apprenticeship at Schering in Berlin. Subsequently he started working for the commercial plant protection organization. In 1991 he founded Schering Agricola in Mexico and continued as Commercial Director for Hoechst Schering AgrEvo in Mexico. In 1997 Markus returned to Germany, heading the administration and strategic development of emerging countries. With the creation of Aventis he became CEO of Aventis CropScience in Turkey and Central Asia.
In 2002 Markus switched branches and became Commercial Director for the Middle East and South Asia at Schering Pharma. Soon after, Bayer took over Schering, and he became of Head of Region Africa, Balkans, Turkey, Middle East and CIS. In 2010 he moved to France to head up the Healthcare operations and Pharmaceuticals business. Since 2016 Markus heads the Bayer Group in Central Eastern Europe and leads the pharma business in Poland. He happily lives in Warsaw.
Markus is married and has two grown up children. He is a creative person who works on the basis of trust and ethics, enjoys teamwork, success and thoughtfulness. He fluently speaks 4 languages and still works on improving his Polish.
